The SnowBall

On January 12th 2012, ULDM had the opportunity to work with the Office for First Year Initiatives and the Speed Art Museum to bring U of L students The SnowBall!

This was an exciting opportunity for ULDM as we had the chance to interact with U of L students, faculty and community, showing them the passion that we have for helping children, and of course, for DANCING!

ULDM spent the night dancing the night of the way to all of the latest hits, as well as leading all attendees in a variety of line dances!

We look forward to continue building relationships with other on-campus organizations as we look to build the ULDM brand for the future.

Thanks to all who came out to support ULDM at The SnowBall!

Who is Stacie?

For those who missed out on Stacie’s Dancing in the SAC, here is a short biography of Stacie, one of the many children who benefits from Kosair Children’s Hospital and ULDM!

Stacie was born on May 23, 2003 and came into this world with a heart defect resulting in on of the chambers in her heart to not be fully developed. At six months old, Stacie had her first open heart surgery to correct complications with drainage that were occurring in her heart. She was also born with clubfeet and has had many casts to try and correct the problem.

Fortunately, the doctors told her family that she would live a normal life and Stacie, now eight years old, has proven these doctors completely right. Stacie has participated in Girl Scouts for three years and is continually described as a social butterfly who makes friends everywhere she goes. She is also a member of the Brave Hearts Club and participates in the walk for the American Heart Association. Stacie is a vibrant and wonderful girl who is thriving because of the wonderful work done for kids at Kosair Children’s Hospital.

What is ULDM?

ULDM stands for University of Louisville Dance Marathon. Students, athletes and faculty stay on their feet all night, dancing and participating in other activities to raise money for Kosair Children’s Hospital.

More than 109,000 children come to Kosair Children’s Hospital each year for specialized care to treat virtually every medical condition. The hospital and its services give kids the chance to live long, healthy lives. No child is ever turned away because of his or her family’s inability to pay.
